At Emerge we expressly shape the support we provide to the needs—and, as possible, the preferences–of individual customers. We support three classes of living arrangements: services to individuals living in their own or in family homes, those who reside in supported living homes, and those in full residential facilities provided and managed by Emerge. We make every effort to ensure that Emerge customers thrive as fully integrated residents of communities throughout the Baltimore Washington region. We operate no group homes.
Under the first category, Emerge provides in-home supports in the residence of an individual customer, or of the customer’s family. These supportive services can include assistance with the activities of everyday living, personal hygiene, home care, health care management, psychology and therapeutic services, recreation and leisure, mobility, and meaningful days. Staff involvement ranges from a few hours a week to 24-hour support, depending on each individuals needs. Emerge makes a lifetime
commitment to our customers; so our services often evolve in response to the changing needs of the individual.
Like in-home supports, supported living services take place in the Emerge customer’s residence—often an apartment that the individual obtains with financial assistance from Emerge. The goal is for customers to live in and manage their own homes, and they choose from a menu of regular support services provided by the Emerge team to assist them in that objective.
We also provide comprehensive residential services in single family homes that Emerge owns or operates. Individuals can express a preference to live with one or two other individuals of their choice, and we make every effort to honor the customer’s wishes.
