Emerge welcomes gifts of all types and will work with you and/or your financial advisors to maximize the tax benefit for you and the value of your gift to Emerge.

Cash – Your personal gift is deductible from your adjusted gross income.

Gifts of Stocks and Bonds – You can send endorsed stock certificates by certified mail to the Development Office. Make certain that your broker identifies you as the donor.

Matching Gifts – Often your gift to Emerge can be multiplied by matching gifts form companies and foundations. Check with your company’s personnel office.

Real or Personal Property – You can deduct the full fair market value of gifts of real estate or personal property (art, antiques, etc.)

Life Insurance – Designating Emerge as a beneficiary of a paid-up or a new policy can help Emerge establish an endowment and provide you with a tax deduction.

Trusts – Various types of trusts can be designed to meet your financial needs. You can reduce your estate taxes while supporting Emerge.

Bequests – You can reduce inheritance taxes by designating in your will specific gifts of cash, property or a percentage of the remainder of your estate. There is no limit on the deduction.

Memorials – Gifts contributed in honor or memory of special friends or loved ones illustrates another way the Emerge family deeply cares for one and other.

Membership – Emerge, Inc. is a private not for profit 501 (c)(3) membership organization. Membership is open to all people who are sympathetic to the purposed of Emerge and have an interest in promoting the rights and welfare of people with disabilities for a nominal membership fee.

Your Time and Talents – Emerge is looking for volunteers to help further the lives of individuals with disabilities. If you would prefer to give a gift of your time, there are many options that are helpful to Emerge:

• Be a friend to an individual with a disability. If you would like to develop a personal relationship with an individual at least six months in length doing things such as recreation and leisure, there are many options available.
• Legal or accounting services. If you are a legal or accounting professional, we have time limited projects that you could assist the staff of Emerge in completing.
• IT Services. Emerge is always in need of donations of expertise in either database development; publishing, and hardware maintenance.
• Assistance with group activities. Emerge has many parties and trips throughout the year where volunteers are needed to assist with individuals with disabilities; cooking, serving, and many other activities. Help is always needed.
