Emerge, Inc. -- Choices for People with Disabilities
Horticultural Program and Products
Emerge operates one of the oldest greenhouse and wholesale flower farms in Maryland, having been in continuous operation since 1954.  The program, located in Perry Hall, Maryland combines a therapeutic horticultural program with a greenhouse and flower business.  Individuals with disabilities do the actual work of planting, watering, weeding, and growing plants under the direction of Emerge staff.  They both learn employment and horticulture skills and receive a paycheck for work performed.  Many individuals find the relaxing  and supportive environment to be ideal to help them achieve their goals.

At the same time, Emerge produces Maryland grown florist quality plants for sale.  Over 200,000 plants are grown each year.  The crops grown, include spring annuals, which can be grown to order on request, Easter flowers, fall plants including mums and pansies, and holiday flowers including poinsettias in many varieties and colors.  Landscapers are encouraged to come to our greenhouses and personally examine the quality of our plants.
